Paper Plane Battles!

So many modes of transport today, but how much did you learn at the Air Museum? Time for a family flight challenge.

Step 1: Create

  • Design and Decorate: Each family member receives a sheet of paper to create a paper aeroplane. You can get some inspo here if needed.

  • Decorate: Use pens and stickers to personalise and decorate the aeroplanes. Let your imaginations run wild!

Step 2: Competition

  • Setup: Choose an open space, either indoors or outdoors, where the aeroplanes can be flown without obstructions.

  • Measure: Use a measuring tape to mark starting lines and measure flight distances.

Step 3: Categories

  • Longest Flight: Measure the distance each aeroplane flies from the starting line to where it lands. The aeroplane that flies the farthest wins this category.

  • Best Design: Vote as a family on the aeroplane with the best design. Consider creativity, colour and imagination.

  • Most Creative Flight Path: Observe the flight paths of the aeroplanes. Award this category to the aeroplane that performs the most interesting or unique flight maneuvers (loops, spins, etc.).
