Pre Adventure Fun

Below are fun themed activities to do before you set off on your Robot Adventure Day…

Activity 1

5 - 15 minutes
Equipment: paper and pen

Robot buddy character creation

Before you head out on your adventure, get together as a family and design your perfect robot buddies - just grab some paper and start drawing!

  1. Robot Name: Think of unique names for your robots. Is it something cool and futuristic, or is it a quirky fan favourite? Use this name generator if you’re stuck!

  2. Robot's Personality: Describe your robot’s personality. Is it helpful, funny, adventurous, or maybe a bit mischievous?

  3. Special Abilities: List any special abilities your robot has. Can it fly, solve puzzles, or maybe it’s really strong?

  4. Favourite Activity: What does your robot love to do in its free time? Does it like to dance, play games, or maybe it loves to invent new things?

  5. Mission Statement: Write a short mission statement for your robot. What is its main goal or purpose? To help clean the house, to entertain, or maybe to explore new places?

Create a Road Trip Playlist

Kick off your family adventure by creating a fun and unique Spotify playlist together! Each family member can add up to 5 of their favourite songs. Don’t forget to include some robot-themed tracks like "Mr. Roboto" by Styx or songs from movies like "WALL-E" and "Big Hero 6" to keep on theme!

Once your playlist is ready, play it in the car as you head out on your Adventure Day!

Activity 3

10 minute game
Equipment: none

Robot Road Trip Games

Memory Chain Game:

While you’re in the car and throughout the day play Robot Memory Chain, start with one player saying, "I am a robot and I can [action]." The next player repeats the sentence and adds a new action. Each player continues repeating the full sequence of actions and adding their own until someone forgets the sequence or says it out of order, at which point they are out. The game continues until only one player remains who can correctly remember and repeat the entire sequence, and they are declared the winner. Remember, you have to act out each action!

Beep Boop Bop Game:

On your adventure, whenever anyone speaks in the car, they must start their sentence with "Beep boop bop." Whether you’re asking questions, making comments, or sharing stories, begin with “beep boop bop…” It’s guaranteed to have the whole family in hysterics!
