Adventure time
Here are some Bluey-themed activities to kick things off before your big Bluey’s Adventure Weekend!
Keepy Uppy!
As long as you like!
Equipment: A colourful balloon
Keepy Uppy is a real family fave at the Heeler house! All you need is a balloon, and the rule is simple: don’t let it touch the ground.
The whole family can play, and it always ends in giggles. Want to make it trickier? Try “no hands” or “one room only.” It’s the perfect game for burning off energy, being silly together, and seeing who can keep the balloon up the longest. Wackadoo!
Bingo’s Featherwand Craft!
20-30 minute activity
Equipment: Crafty things such as sticks, ribbons, glitter, paper and feathers.
Get ready to make something magical!
Grab paper, sticks, ribbons, feathers, glue, and anything else you can stick on a wand. Your mission: create your very own Featherwand, just like Bingo from the show.
Decorate it with colours, sparkles, or fun symbols, then bring it to life in pretend play! Maybe, it makes things heavy, makes people freeze in time, or helps you on an adventure.
Dance Mode!
As long as you like!
Equipment: Music
This one’s a Heeler classic! Pop on some music and get everyone moving — no excuses! When someone shouts “Dance Mode!” you’ve got to bust out your silliest moves, no matter where you are. It’s a guaranteed laugh and a brilliant way to shake out the wiggles. For real life!
And don’t forget — you can play this game while you’re out and about on your Adventure Weekend too. Who needs music to have a boogie when you’ve got family, giggles, and a bit of imagination?
A MUST DO activity!
Before your Day One adventure, watch Ice Cream. The Heeler family explore South Bank’s sights in this episode — and soon you’ll be following in their paw prints! Before Day Two, watch a couple of episodes that feature in Bluey’s World Brisbane — Chickenrat, Cubby, Unicorse, The Creek, Sleepytime, Duck Cake, or Pavlova.
You can watch these episodes and the entire series on ABC iview.
